Exploring Tables and Lists: A Fresh Perspective
Tables and Lists, a new thing
We have added Tables and Lists to this site of Observations. The table identifies where this object is in the Sky, and it will provide an image or sketch of what it looks like that I have done myself. Some information that is generally available is found on the internet or from text and reference books, and I will be adding notes from my own observing experience. I will also provide links to other sources when I make a clear copy of other people’s work.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!
The Tables and Lists will be all provided in a separate section of the website, with it’s own entry point from the main menu. I am exploring a method to provide the lists for downloading for you to use for your own research.
So far the following have been added:
- The List of Galaxies that are in our local Group
- Messier List
- 110 Finest NGC Deep sky Objects
- Herschel 400 Part 1
Also plan to add:
- Comets
- Atmospheric/Aurora
- Sun/Moon/Planets
- 50 Brightest Stars in the Northern Skies (Greater than -40Dec)
- The NGC Catalog.
Issues that may affect the quality of the information. Not sure of the Epoch for the co-ordinates in the List. When I started this most Star charts were Epoch 1950, Since the Early 90’s star charts have been 2000. We are now approaching 2025, and Precession being what it is the RA and Dec’s should probably be adjusted to 2025. I will have to go through the this information and adjust it for current usage.
