Betelgeuse (Alpha Orionis) is acting up again.

This image is a current light curve for Betelgeuse, the brightest star in Orion (on average.) It will soon be hidden by the sun until July/August. We shall have to keep an eye on it. What you see is the AAVSO light curve (Visual Spectrum) and the waxing and waning of this star over time. We can see the notable dimming that occurred in 2019/2020. and the brightening since the first of this year. Looking back over the history of observations in the AAVSO database, this brightening is somewhat exceptional.
